Our Certified Medication Technician (CMT) program is modeled to provide students the skills in administering non-parental medications. They will also learn knowledge in medication/administration in order for them to assist registered nurses, whether in an intermediate care or group home, individual home, and assisted living facility.
This program consists of classroom and clinical practice under the supervision of an instructor. It includes the discussion of the following areas:
- Infection Control
- Medical Terminologies
- Body System Review
- Medication Management
- Medication Classification
- Medication Administration Records (MAR)
- Medication Interaction
- Observing Skills
- Record Keeping
- Communication Skills
- And many more
A license will be issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing upon completion of the class.
